Marshall House Project
Marshall House Project
Marshall House Project is a driving soul-funk outfit with one foot rooted in the deep pockets of the past and the other fearlessly exploring the deep fry of the future. The sound is an electric eclectic love-child: the product of an affair between Jimi Hendrix and the Funky Meters, after a long night of drinking with space aliens, and jamming to Bob on the jukebox. MHP delivers a mash-up of energetic funk and slinky soul with a psychedelic twist and a chili salt rim. The mission: to create an uplifting dance experience, spun full of twists and turns, interlaced with conscious reflective lyrics, expanding, contracting and alive like a universe unto itself.

The band began as a project. In a house. On Marshall Dr. After years of jams and evolution, the lineup slowly began crystallizing circa 2012 into its current state. The founder, guitarist and primary songwriter is Sam Hamby. He has been there since the beginning, and his name is synonymous with greasy guitar mastery. Sami writes with a message in mind, and is generous when it comes to sizzling solos, skanky rhythms and blowing minds. On the drums isMatty Tucker. He is powerful and dextrous behind the kit and serves up a plethora of cutty beats, laced with serpentine breaks and multidimensional sensibilities. Bass guitar is held down tight by Alex Izzarelli. He is constantly innovating and consistently carving out deep grooves and envelope popping bass-lines; guaranteed to get the floor quakin' and the booty shakin'. Percussionist Michael“Boots,” a seasoned drummer in his own right, rides the rhythm like a wave on a magic conga carpet, sprinkling cowbell-salted-caramel through the cracks.

Marshall House Project is one of the premier bands working in and around Sonoma County, and is steadily gaining momentum, earning fans and extending its reach. The group is constantly expanding their repertoire, and honing their craft in order to cultivate a fresh, quality show every time they take the stage. Simply put, Marshall House Project is a real treat to experience.

ABOUT SOLUZION

Created by three lifelong friends in the mountains of Topanga Canyon, Soluzion seamlessly blends funk, soul, afro-latin, and jazz influences to create a fiery psychedelic experience that resonates with the audience. The groups three core members have been playing together since they were 12 years old forming an unrivaled bond.

Topanga is known as L.A.'s countryside getaway, and was a haven for musicians and artists in the late 1960's. Neil Young, Canned Heat, Billy Preston, Crosby Stills Nash, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, and Woody Guthrie all have strong ties to Topanga Canyon. Strongly influenced by the rich musical history and culture in Topanga, Soluzion looks to carry on the torch, and keep this monumental musical heritage alive.

The progression, chemistry, and methodic devotion of this tight-knit group is evident during their performances and crisp studio sessions. Known for their dynamic and electrifying live performances, Soluzion functions as enigmatic out-of-body musical entity that forces the crowd to symbiotically move their feet and dance as if their is no tomorrow.

Recently opening for the Monophonics, and recording tracks with L.A's very own Orgone; Soluzion pulls from their early influences of Sly and the Family Stone, The Meters, Nina Simone , War, Santana, and Hendrix, and creates their own soulful funky psychedelic eclectic genre.

Soluzion consists of Terin Ector (lead vocals/bass), a natural raw talent with a diverse musical background, and was taught by his father (Joel Ector) and uncle (Tambu Ector) how to play instruments at a very young age. His voice is smooth and soulful, similar to a Curtis Mayfield or Stevie Wonder, but also gritty and organic. A strong Bob Marley, Eric Burdon, and Jorge Ben Jor influence can be heard in his voice as well. Aquiles Lito Magana's (guitar) passion and energy is evident during his riveting solos, which sound like a blend of Hendrix and Santana. Some of his other influences include; Eddie Hazel (Parliament Funkadelic), Leo Noncetilli (The Meters), and Mickey Melchiondo (Ween).

In addition to the groups core members, expect to see a topnotch horns, percussion, and keyboard section comprised of some of L.A's most talented and dedicated upcoming musicians. Each memeber of the group stands out with heart-stopping solo efforts showcasing their expertise, and perfectly collaborates as symphonic unit creating a powerhouse of funky soul music that blissfully soothes your eardrums.
